A little bit about Sagar and Ofin Pvt Ltd.
He started Ofin independently in the year 2000, specifically on the 1st of July.
He started his first job, somewhere in 1994, working with a CS firm, before finally switching over to start his own independent firm. Ofin offers a variety of services including incorporations, compliances, trademarks and so on

According to Sagar Ruparelia, Director of Ofin Legal Pvt Ltd.,
"Initially, people would either go to their known CAs or someone they were introduced to through referrals. But, now, somewhere since 2014-15, the market has become price sensitive. New age businesses have started responding to online ads and through marketing."
Ofin started getting business and clients through digital marketing and through ads. We didn't initially expect that, given the industry. But for the most part, these CA and CS firms gain clients through referrals and networking.
Ofin's mantra to get new clients
They provide many one time services. They provide services at around 25-30% of the rate at which a bigger CA firm would charge. This becomes very economical for start-ups, especially ones that are short of funds at the time of incorporation (before getting investors onboard).
In our company, the working is like that of an assembly line. Fixed people to get specific things done. That becomes very cost-effective even for us. Say for example in the case of incorporations that are managed by our CEO, he gets an intern that can help him with smaller things like getting digital signatures or going through and handing over documents to the inhouse company secretary. This saves the CEO loads of time and as a result, we can manage our work more efficiently. And then with digital marketing, we get a lot of enquiries and clients.

Sagar also went on to explain how nowadays, clients don't like to visit many consultants and have multiple follow-ups. So when everything is in one place, Asanify comes under the package of the CA, then that's really good.
There have been many changes over the past years in the way Chartered accountants manage their own clients' payroll. Many of them started specializing in payroll specifically, many now have their own payroll team. That's a big shift from what we used to see 10 years ago.
More and more CAs are also now trying to get everything under one roof. So if there is payroll software, that can digitize the entire process for a particular CA firm, and also has an HR solution as a part of it, then it is for sure a value addition for the CA and their clients.
Changes in the way people look at Policies and compliances
Initially, many companies wouldn't have their compliances in place, especially smaller companies. People would wait for notifications to come in before they got things in place. But now, Sagar says, they are seeing a shift in that trend.
"Now people are starting their business with a clear vision. And because of this vision they want to be compliant and have everything in place"

Expectations of the end customer when they come to a CA firm
End customers usually expect overall management and help them throughout their journey. They expect to have a consultant on board who can help them make better decisions. It isn't a purely transactional relationship as one would think in terms of compliances.
And once the customer is with a particular CA firm, they pretty much end up going to the same firm for all the compliance-related or other concerns.
CA firms and their need to now adopt a more digitized approach
Accordin to Sagar,
"Now even older, more traditional CA firms have now started digitizing their processes. Many of them have started using cloud accounting software over server-based accounting software. This allows them to give access to their clients as well. While working on these cloud accounting software is still a long way to go, firms have started taking their first steps towards digitization."
